www.coralpoker.co.uk – Time and Poker

coralpoker.co.uk – For many people who lead working lives, a game of poker once a week is usual, and you can become a good enough poker player if you engage in this weekly game over several years. Some of us however, who take their poker more seriously, might try and make more time to play poker.

PLAY NOW

I would certainly say that the more time you spend playing online poker, the quicker you will develop your game, although the quality of the game you participate in can be important too. Playing a freeroll or play money game online occasionally, will not be as beneficial I feel, as playing a live tournament with good poker players occasionally. As I mentioned though, not everyone has time to play poker all the time due to other commitments.

Time plays it’s part in other aspects of poker too, primarily when we are seated at a table. With freezeouts, we are all on a time limit in terms of the blinds coming around, and the longer you wait for that premium hand, the more those blinds will eat into your chipstack. It is all about balance of course, and sometimes you will have to get involved with slightly weaker hands. Because when the game gets shorthanded and the blinds become larger, every players chipstack is effectively a sand timer running down each hand. Whichever way you look at it, time is linked to the game of poker, and when we start out with a healthy chipstack, we should not be careless with that time that is given to us.
