Player Profile on Todd Brunson
Todd Brunson was born August 7th 1969 and is the son of famous poker world champion, Doyle Brunson. You might expect him to have learnt poker from his father from a young age but this is not the case. Todd chose to pursue his education fully and went to university where he eventually learned the game himself.

Some might be tempted to think that Todd is merely given his share of the poker limelight due to his name and link to the great Doyle Brunson, but his performances at tournaments have proved him to be an accomplished player in his own right. He won his first bracelet in 2005 at the $2,500 Omaha hi/lo event and has often looked like a good bet to win a second bracelet. It is not only the World Series that Todd has had success in either, having had five cashes in the WPT and one in the EPT too. Final tables in these two tours have eluded him but that is bound to change soon, as he continues to build on the good start to his career.
Televised tournaments have also featured Todd and seen him do well, namely ‘Ultimate Poker Challenge’ and ‘Poker Superstars’ but it is not only on the tournament circuit that Todd excels. His recorded tournament earnings reputedly stand at over $3 million, but his cash earnings are known to significantly surpass that figure.
Todd Brunson did not figure in any final tables at this years World Series unfortunately, but perhaps his preference was to concentrate more on the lucrative cash games as many players do these days. He will definately be one to watch at the WPT this year though as he attempts to claim his final table place, and perhaps a title to go with it.
